• Stop using retinol, tretinoin, and other similar products such as topical amino acids (AHAs, BHAs) TWO WEEKS before your appointment.
• Avoid any hair removal method or shaving the treatment area for 48 hours before your treatment.
• Some causes of genital darkening include genetics, hormonal changes, age, pregnancy, hormonal imbalance, tight or synthetic underwear, hair removal with razors or wax, constant contact with sanitary pads during menstruation, and more.
• Thoroughly clean your intimate area with warm water when removing your menstrual pad.
• Improper hygiene can cause menstrual flow to contain iron, which darkens the genital area. This will prevent any menstrual residue. Change your pad when it’s full and at most every four hours (to prevent menstrual flow from coming into contact with your skin and also to prevent vaginal infections).
• Overweight and obesity.
• Avoid unprotected sun exposure, saunas, swimming pools, beaches, and other outdoor activities.
• During the home treatment process, and for approximately 10-15 days, the patient should moisturize the area with AQUAPHOR.
• Do not use petroleum jelly.
• Suitable for men and women.
